St. Rose of Lima Catholic School Parent Development Organization (PDO) mainly focuses on three tasks.
-
They raise ~19% of our school’s yearly funds--this is a huge undertaking. In our history, these fundraising tasks, have built up the family atmosphere of our school. We all work together to keep our school open and our tuition costs reasonable.
-
Recently, our PDO has also added community-building activities, like “Paint & Sip” nights to our calendar. These have been enjoyable times, to just enjoy each other’s company.
-
PDO strives to support our teachers, by helping teachers communicate classroom needs to parents. Parent Classroom Representatives reach out to teachers and organize parents for class parties, auction projects, or other activities.
PDO Meetings are held in the school library the second Tuesday of each month and are open to all Saint Rose families.
Wreath Fundraiser
Each Fall, St. Rose students sell Christmas greenery to support our fundraising goals. We partner up with Sherwood Forest Farms, a family owned business out of Tumwater, WA that helps non-profits all over the country raise money for their organization.
Students/families sell to friends, neighbors, co-workers, and even out-of-town friends. Customers are able to place orders both online and through students at St. Rose. Orders can be shipped in the contiguous US. Wreaths, centerpieces, swags, and other décor arrive in time for Thanksgiving and remain fresh throughout the holiday season.
Fundraising efforts take place throughout October. Family volunteers help to count money, sort, and distribute orders; so families have the opportunity to earn both money towards their fundraising goals, and hours toward their volunteer goals with one fundraiser!
Coconut Crawl
This is our Spring Fundraiser, and a family-friendly community event! Local businesses and individuals
sponsor festive water stops throughout the course.
Participants run walk or hula their way through our
1 mile or 5K race option. Our local DJ keeps the party going as participants are awarded a finisher lei
and encouraged to purchase food from local vendors.
Activities provided include chalk, bubbles and
yard games. This event is one of a kind, and truly fun for all ages!
Candy Sales
Our school is excited to be partnering with World's Finest Chocolates for our early spring fundraiser! With 45% profit on all candy sales, families can easily earn money towards their fundraising goals.
There is something for everyone, with a variety of delicious candy options including chocolate bars, caramels, and mint melt-aways, chocolate covered almonds and more! Plus, each purchase helps support our school. Thanks for your support!
