Homework Guidelines
Homework is planned to meet the needs of students and has an essential place in the educational place in the educational program. Homework assignments develop a sense of responsibility, challenge and organizational opportunity. Each teacher will have a homework policy and will assign homework as needed to give additional practice and reinforce classroom instruction. Parents/Guardians are urged to be supportive and encouraging to create a positive attitude toward homework.
Our goal at St. Rose of Lima is to instill good study habits and personal responsibility. Parents need to be aware of time conscientiously spent on homework and locate the area in your home most conducive to study and concentration. It is the student’s responsibility when absent to make up all assigned work and homework. The general guidelines for assigned homework are:
Grades 1 and 2.............. 30 minutes per day
Grades 3 and 4.............. 60 minutes per day
Grades 5 and 6.............. 90 minutes per day
Homework is to be turned in the following day or as determined by the classroom teacher.
