Welcome to our classroom web page! I'm Michelle Eisen and this is my second year teaching at St. Rose. I hope you will visit our web page often to see what's going on in our classroom.

Daily Assignments:

Accelerated Reader: 20 minutes each night.  This includes reading homework.

Math Facts: adding up to 18 and subtracting thru 10

Keyboard: IXL math is a great place to practice these skills.

Homework for November, 2011

	1st Grade
Reading	Reading every day for 20 minutes. This includes Read Well homework.
Language	What is at the beginning of a sentence?  How do we end a sentence?
Spelling	Can they spell the tricky word The? I? and the new word Was?
Math	Practice math addition facts thru 18, subtraction thru 10 and counting up to 120 by 2's, 5's, and 10's.  Count cars, leaves, animals anything to count.
Religion	We have been saying the Hail Mary...Ask your student what the Hail Mary is about.  Hopefully they will tell you about " Hi Mary! You are very special to God..."
Science	We will be studying pumpkins...how they grow, what are the parts of a pumpkin called, what can you make out of a pumpkin... Turkeys will also be studied.
Social Studies	Pilgrims...
Art
Handwriting	We do this in class with our dictaion notebooks.
